Welcome to the Connecticut E-Rate Site, designed to help Connecticut schools understand the purpose, scope, and application process of the federal universal service fund, commonly referred to as “e-Rate.” Here you will find links to resources in Connecticut and to the  Schools & Libraries Division (SLD) website .

Time to Get Started for Funding

Funding cycles for the E-rate program come and go very quickly with all the other things schools and districts have to consider on a daily basis. Consider planning for the next funding cycle in advance. Consider these  Ten Rules for E-Rate Success  from E-Rate Central.

E-Rate Central  is a useful website for keeping up with e-Rate news, understanding the forms, and other nuances to the program. We encourage you to sign up for their weekly newsletter.

E-Rate Manager  is an online e-Rate compliance tool useful in managing E-rate applications, tracking deadlines, and such. A great deal of basic eRate info is available on their site.

Technology Planning for e-Rate  from the Schools and Libraries Division provides insight on how to develop an effective technology plan and provides information on the required elements of the plan.

Connecticut has been an active participant in the E-Rate Program since its launch in 1998.
The Connecticut Department of Education has consistently provided process support and training to Connecticut School Systems who choose to apply for discounts available for telecommunications,  Internet Access and Internal Connections. Over the past five years,
Connecticut schools and libraries have received over $175 million in funding awards for these services used to support and build Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Internet Access/Broadband, and other Telecommunications services identified as eligible services by the FCC.

The E-Rate section provides support for:
